The much-awaited Dubai Expo 2020 kicked off after a gap of almost one year with an enthralling opening ceremony. Many local and global artists showcased their high-octane performances. According to reports, over 190 countries are taking part in the mega event that will last for six months. Dubai spent around $7 billion on the expo site to attract new businesses and draw more foreigners to buy properties in the commercial hub of the United Arab Emirates. The opening ceremony was attended by Abu Dhabi’s powerful Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a host of other dignitaries. The site’s central Al Wasl Dome, made of steel and weighing the equivalent of 25 blue whales, was the centre of the attraction.
